1974 – Born, the eldest of three sons, to Elaine and James, who runs a heating and plumbing business
1980 – First family member to attend private school: The Mall, in Twickenham
1987 – Head boy, and captain of school rugby, football and cricket teams
1992 – Signs as a professional footballer, a dream fulfilled, for Millwall FC
1993 – Buys first property, at age of 19
1996 – 1st team debut for Millwall
1997 – Football career cut short by injury, with no insurance cover. Peter Mead, Millwall’s chairman, offers the lifeline of a job in advertising at his agency Abbott Mead Vickers (AMV)
2001 – Leaves advertising to start career in personal financial advice, with Lucas Fettes
2003 – Meets future wife Sarah on the train home. They go on to have three children, Jimmy, George, and Maggie
2007 – Co-founds Connor Broadley with best friend Peter Broadley, just before the global financial crisis, as it turns out
2011 – Influenced by experience of the financial crisis, Connor Broadley launches its own discretionary investment management service
2017 – Celebrates Connor Broadley’s 10th anniversary
2019 – Completes family home refurbishment. Never again
