Run, walk, limp: 1,084 team miles to conquer lockdown
During lockdown the team here at Connor Broadley recently participated in a ‘Conqueror' virtual challenge. We walked, or ran, the equivalent of travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats (1,084 miles), to help keep us motivated and our physical and mental wellbeing on track during these long lockdown days and evenings. A night at the Academy
On Monday evening as part of our partnership with the Royal Academy, and for our many clients and friends from the creative industries, we were proud to host a panel discussion on creativity.
Chaired by author and copywriter Malcolm Duffy, we were privileged to have some fantastic panelists for the session - Amanda Berry (BAFTA CEO), Tim Davie (CEO BBC Studios) and Karen Cunningham (Director of Thomas Thomas films).
Against the wonderful backdrop of the Academicians’ Room, discussion centered around the theme ‘Creativity – its social, commercial and cultural impact’. The conversation touched on everything from diversity and the nurturing of talent, to the opportunities and challenges facing the UK’s creative industry brought about by new media and technology.
Despite health concerns and the slight confusion over current hand-shaking etiquette, the event was a great success, so much so, that an extension to the bar’s opening hours was required at the end of the evening.

The Best Places to Work
Our Employee Benefits team recently partnered with Campaign magazine, to sponsor its annual Best Places to Work awards. The awards focus on how companies look after the wellbeing of their staff through the combination of culture, benefits and financial reward. The top companies are ranked according to their performance and then three specific prizes are given to the best Large, Medium and Small organisations.
This week the 2020 winners were announced, and we were proud to attend the awards event at the London Edition hotel. Colin Fleming, COO and head of our Employee Benefits team gave a brief summary of current market trends in the benefits space and then jointly gave out the awards with Campaign’s new UK Editor-in-Chief, Gideon Spanier.
Congratulations to all those companies who were recognised, including some of our own Connor Broadley clients.
